BATON ROUGE – Coach Johnny Jones and two members of the LSU men’s basketball team head to Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the SEC Network studios for the annual Southeastern Conference Basketball Media Day.
The SEC Tip-Off event will feature two players and head coaches from all 14 conference schools. LSU will be bringing freshman Ben Simmons, the number one recruit entering the 2015-16 season as a freshman, and outstanding senior shooting guard Keith Hornsby. Hornsby made 72 threes a year ago, none bigger than the trey from the corner at the buzzer to win at nationally-ranked Arkansas in the final game of the regular season.
Each coach and the two players will spend three hours with SEC and national media covering the event at the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte and then three hours taping various segments at the ESPNU/SEC Network studios. A basketball court is also laid out in the parking lot of the Network for ESPN personalities to interact with the players.
Highlights from SEC Media Day will be shown first on ESPNU from noon to 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday and the SEC Network will also provide coverage of SEC Tip Off, on its flagship program SEC Now Wednesday night at 9 p.m. The show will also feature segments of coaches’ roundtables hosted by Dari Nowkhah.
Also Wednesday, the media predictions for finish in the league and the pre-season player All-SEC teams will be announced.
