BATON ROUGE, La. — Freshman Ashley Allmer was selected to the second annual AVCA High School Beach All-American Team earlier today. The Sarasota, Florida native was one of only four girls to receive this recognition.
“To be able to have someone to get that kind of recognition means a lot for us and to only have four in the country who got it is just big,” said associate head coach Russell Brock. “It’s a young sport and things are changing and to be on the front end of an award like this is fun, and it’s exciting and I think it will go a long way for her and it’ll go a long way for us to get the program a little recognition on the national stage.”
Allmer has claimed top 10 finishes in all her tournaments this year including 10 first place finishes in 18U junior tournaments.
