IOWA CITY, Iowa – The LSU men’s swimming and diving team competed in the 200-medely relay, 100 fly and three-meter springboard on the second day of NCAA Championships at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium.
The team of Logan Rysemus, Silas Dejean, Frank Greeff and Alex Linge finished 23rd overall with a time of 1:27.54.
“I liked our effort today but unfortunately we didn’t put it all together,” LSU swimming coach Dave Geyer said. “Going into our final day we just have to focus and buckle down. I’m really looking forward to Frank’s last swim in college, the 200 fly.”
Greeff notched a 30th-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 46.79.
Daniel Helm finished off the afternoon on three-meter. The senior finished 24th with a final score of 365.25.
“My heart goes out for Daniel. He had a solid list on three-meter and wasn’t as sharp as he has been in the past,” LSU diving coach Doug Shaffer said. “He was diving with the intent of going to the finals but came up short. He is in a good spot going into tomorrow with his best event (platform). I look forward to his final event to wrap up his collegiate career.”
LSU returns to the pool tomorrow at 11 a.m. for prelims. Frank Greeff will compete in the 200 fly and Daniel Helm will take to the platform.
