IOWA CITY, Iowa – Senior Frank Greeff set a career-best time in the 200 IM with a mark of 1:45.08 to finish 30th on the first day of NCAA Championships at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium in Iowa City, Iowa.
“It was a good start for Frank by posting a personal best,” LSU swimming coach Dave Geyer said. “The relay had certain pieces on and some a little off. There are certain things that are out of control. Overall, we prepared well for this relay.”
The 400-medely relay team of Logan Rysemus, Silas Dejean, Frank Greeff and Alex Linge finished 20th with a time of 3:10.62.
In diving, senior Daniel Helm finished 32nd on three-meter springboard with a score of 318.30.
“This is an extremely tough field,” LSU diving coach Doug Shaffer said. “Daniel didn’t perform to the level that he did at SEC Championships though. He has the potential and I look forward to his performances over the next two days.
LSU returns to the pool tomorrow at 11 a.m. for prelims. The relay team will swim the 200 medley and Frank Greeff takes to the pool for the 100 fly. Daniel Helm will also take to the three-meter springboard.
