BATON ROUGE – The LSU Men’s Tennis team finished their fifth and final day at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational with both singles and doubles action as the team gears up for their first dual match of the spring season.

The Tigers enjoyed three victories on the doubles side as the teams of junior Andrew Korinek and sophomore Justin Butsch, sophomore Eric Perez and freshman Simon Freund and junior Harrison Kennedy and sophomore John Michael Busch all scored victories for LSU on Sunday.

In singles, junior Boris Arias, Butsch and Korinek won their matches and helped build more momentum for the team. The invitational was a long process that tested the Tigers’ conditioning and stamina and head coach Jeff Brown feels his team is fully prepared for the spring season.

“Considering this was our fifth day in a row of competing, I thought we had good intensity overall,” Brown said. “We have our first match in one week and this tournament has prepared us well.”

LSU now turns its attention toward a Jan. 18 home match up against Lamar.
