NORMAN, Okla. – Madelene Sagstrom and Elise Bradley both shot even par 70 Sunday and remain in contention for top finishes after two rounds of the Schooner Fall Classic in the Belmar Golf Club.
Sagstrom’s 70 followed her 68 in the opening round and the senior is at 138 (-2) after 36 holes and in solo 10th place. Bradley also shot 70 for the second straight day and is at 140 and in a tie for 11th place.
LSU followed its 3-over par 283 with an 8-over 288 and stands at 11-over 571 for 36 holes and stands in eighth place. Mississippi State is the tournament leader 10-under 550 (277-273), 11 shots ahead of Kent State at 1-over 561. Arkansas is third at 562 with Texas A&M fourth at 4-over 564.
LSU also counted on Sunday’s second round 3-over 73 from Carly Ray Goldstein and a 5-over 75 from Caroline Nistrup.
“It was a day when the putts didn’t drop for us,” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen. “But the girls feel good about where they are and are looking forward to a strong finish on Monday.”
Ally McDonald of Mississippi State has fired back-to-back rounds of 3-under 67 to hold the individual lead at 6-under 134, one shot better than Hayley Davis and Jessica Peng of Mississippi State.
