BATON ROUGE — Members of the LSU Swimming team made a trip to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Sunday morning to “Flood the Lake.” The mission of the program is to have every member of the team make a trip to the children’s hospital to visit with patients and their families.
“It’s something I’ve really liked doing over the past three years,” LSU women’s team captain Amber Carter said. “It’s really nice letting the kids know that even through their adversities, if they work hard, they can do anything. We want to let them know they have support from their LSU family as well.”
Carter along with Megan Cox, Devon Dabney, Kara Kopcso, Jane MacDougall, Taryn MacKenzie, Katlin Sepp, Leah Troskot and Kate Zimmer traveled door to door with signed posters and purple bags for each patient.
Due to visitor restrictions the whole team cannot make one trip to the hospital. Instead, ten members of the team will go each weekend to show support for the children and families.
