Swimmers and Divers Make Hospital Visit

BATON ROUGE, La. — Five members of the LSU Lady Tigers swimming and diving squad visited a local hospital this past weekend.

Juniors Kaelee Mader, Audrey Lawson and Sally Wood were joined by sophomores Emily Schwabe and Laura Furr.

While visiting the hospital, the team got the opportunity to visit with young patients. The Tigers went from room to room shedding light and encouraging young kids.

“Coming to the hospital was a great experience for us to connect with the kids and to brighten their day, as well as ours,” Mader said.

The team took pictures with the children, which really seemed to brighten their day. The team did not only bring joy to the children in the hospital, but also to the family and staff that were in attendance.

“We are grateful to be able to come to the hospital and speak to fellow swimmers,” Lawson said. “It’s always great to give back to the community that supports us.”

The Tigers will resume competition Friday as both teams travel to Florida State, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. (CT). The teams will then make their way down to Gainesville the following day to take on LSU’s first SEC foe of the season, University of Florida, at 12 p.m. (CT).
