BATON ROUGE – Four former LSU players posted good numbers during their play in the recently concluded NBA Summer League series in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, for two of them, Garrett Temple and Marcus Thornton, their time was limited by early injuries.

Temple had an outstanding game going in his summer league opener for San Antonio before spraining his ankle and ending his summer play. But in his one game he had 11 points with one rebound, one assist and two steals.

Thornton played in the first two games before the New Orleans Hornets decided to shut him down for the remainder of the summer league to rest a minor injury. In his two games, Thornton averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

Both Temple and Marcus finished their playing careers at LSU in 2009.

Ronald Dupree, who finished his career in 2003, and is trying to get back on an NBA team, posted good numbers for the Toronto Raptors in his five games, averaging 10 points and 4.0 rebounds.

Also, NBA rookie Tasmin Mitchell, a free agent signee of the Cleveland Cavaliers, had a very productive five games, averaging 5.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals a contest as he now makes his preparations for the Cavaliers’ training camp in early fall.
