Rachele Fico, RHP, Fr., Oxford, Conn.
Fico made the most of her four appearances and went 2-0 with a pair of saves to notch Wilson/DeMarini All-Tournament Team accolades. She fanned 17 batters in her 15.0 innings and held opponents to a .127 batting average. The Connecticut native tallied seven strikeouts and won her home debut against Louisiana-Monroe. She followed that up by retiring 10 of the 11 batters she faced in 3.1 innings of no-hit relief to earn the win against Virginia. Fico concluded the weekend with back-to-back saves against Oklahoma State, who are receiving votes in the Top 25.

Ashley Langoni, LF, So., Pueblo, Colo.
Langoni powered hits in five of six games fueled by a trio of multi-hit efforts to post a .500 batting average, three home runs and nine RBIs for the week as the Tigers went 5-1. LSU also won the Wilson/DeMarini Tiger Classic as Langoni matched a career-best with four RBIs against Virginia in the championship game. She also ripped two-run shots homers to open the scoring against ULM and ignited a six-run rally in the fourth inning against Oklahoma State.

Notes on the Tigers
LSU racked up a 5-1 week and claimed the Wilson/DeMarini Tiger Classic championship as the Tigers opened an 18-game home stand. Ashley Applegate, Rachele Fico, Courtney Hollier and Ashley Langoni earned All-Tournament honors. The Tigers defeated Oklahoma State and Virginia twice. It’s only setback came against No. 4 Michigan. LSU’s pitching staff continued its dominance en route to an impressive 1.02 staff ERA. All four staff members picked up wins highlighted by Fico, who notched two wins and two saves. Langoni sparked the offense going 9-for-18 with a trio of home runs and nine RBIs. Applegate and Jessica Mouse also tacked on four RBIs, while Kirsten Shortridge stole six bases. Hollier added her first multi-hit and multi-RBI efforts of her career. LSU faces Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday before Houston, Jacksonville State and Southern visit Tiger Park over the weekend.
