COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The LSU men’s swimming and diving team concluded a brilliant weekend performance by winning the Art Adamson Invitational here Sunday at the Texas A&M Student Recreation Center Natatorium.

The Tigers held off the home standing and 25th-ranked Aggies, 1039-1004. SMU finished third (1001), while Pacific took fourth (686).

On the women’s standings, LSU finished fourth with 409 points. No. 5 Texas A&M won the meet by a score of 1282.5-1048 over No. 10 Michigan. Seventh-ranked SMU was third with 685 points.

Freshman Will Rivers picked up where the Tigers left off on Saturday by winning the 1650 freestyle with an NCAA provisional time of 15:21.78. Junior Kevin Braud took runner-up honors in the championship final of the 200 backstroke (1:47.46), and freshman Nate Telep won the consolation heat, finishing ninth overall in a time of 1:53.30.

Junior Miko Malberg recorded ano ther NCAA “B” cut with a second-place time of 44.54 in the championship final. Sophomore Christoph Lubenau captured the consolation final and finished ninth overall (45.99).

Sophomore Julius Gloeckner continued his winning streak by taking first place in the 200 butterfly (1:47.34). That clocking was recorded as a career-high and the second-fastest mark in school history.

Gloeckner had previously taken third in the 200 breaststroke championship final (2:02.48).

The Tigers secured the victory when senior Andrew Keane and sophomore Nathan Schreiber posted 2-3 finishes in the men’s platform. Keane took second in a mark of 280.60, and Schreiber was third with a tally of 244.55.

LSU then took runner-up honors in the 400 free relay, the final event of the meet. Malberg, Connor Farber, Lubenau and Gloeckner recorded a time of 2:59.49.

Senior Hali Saucier wrapped up her phenomenal weekend with a sweep of all three diving events, culminating in Sunday’s women’s platform competition. Saucier won by a margin of 52.45 with her first-place score of 294.30.

Freshman Signe Larson was the Lady Tigers’ highest finisher in the 200 breaststroke, taking fifth in the championship final (2:18.38). Sophomore Sarah Bedell and sophomore Victoria Given won the consolation and “C” finals of th e event.

Sophomore Katherine Noland won the “C” final and finished 17th overall in the 100 free in a time of 51.26. Sophomore Berit Aljand was eighth in the championship final of the 200 back (2:03.40).
