BATON ROUGE — LSU junior Drew Haro was named the SEC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week it was announced Tuesday by the conference office. The honor marks the first of Haro’s career and the first for LSU this season.
Haro led the Tiger harriers to a season-best fifth-place showing at the highly competitive Auburn Invitational over the weekend. The New Orleans native posted the Tigers’ first top-15 performance of the year, placing 12th overall with a LSU season-best 8K time of 24:26.34.
Haro and the Tigers return to action this weekend when they travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the 14th annual Chile Pepper Festival.
