BATON ROUGE — Three highly ranked juniors recently signed with the LSU men’s tennis team, head coach Jeff Brown announced Wednesday.
Two Californians, Jonathan Tragardh and Martel Campbell, will enroll at LSU in January and could see playing time in the spring for the Tigers.
James Cluskey, the top-ranked junior in his native Ireland, will begin next fall.
Brown said Cluskey, at 6-foot-6, has tremendous potential for the Tigers.
“He has a huge game and it will continue to grow when he goes through our strength and conditioning program and is surrounded by more high-level competition.”
Campbell, of Santa Ana, Calif., is ranked in the top 20 in the United States among 18 and under juniors. Tragardh, from Indian Hills, Calif., is currently No. 35 and was in the top-10 in the 16 and under division.
“The two guys out of California will be a big boost for the program,” Brown said.
