Sarah Rumely Noble Season 2024

Sarah Rumely Noble, one of the most outstanding volleyball players in the history of the SEC and at the University of Kentucky, enters her fourth year as a member of the LSU volleyball coaching staff. Rumely Noble was named an SEC legend in the Spring of 2019.

Rumely Noble, a proven recruiter, serves as the program’s recruiting coordinator after serving in the same role at her previous two stops. She not only is an outstanding judge of talent, but also values the type of student-athlete that fits into the LSU program. She has cultivated the family atmosphere and has enhanced the future of LSU volleyball in just her first season with the Tigers.

The Tigers have secured top recruiting classes in Rumely Noble’s first seasons with the Tigers. LSU’s 2020 class was ranked No. 22 in the country by PrepVolleyball.com. In 2019, Rumely Noble led the recruiting efforts to bring in the No. 13 class in the country, the highest ranked class in the SEC for that year.

In addition to her recruiting duties, Rumely Noble runs the offense for the Tigers and has impacted the program by implementing a faster and more dynamic offense.

Rumely Noble also works directly with the setters to develop their technical and tactical abilities within the game. She trained sophomore Anna Zwiebel to a SEC Co-Setter of the Week honor in 2017, which was the first SEC Setter of the Week honor in program history since the award was added in 2015. Lindsay Flory followed up with earning Setter of the Week in 2018. Karli Rose became the first LSU freshman to earn SEC Setter of the Week in 2019. Rose also earned SEC Freshman of the Week in the same year on her way to being named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team and the AVCA All-South Honorable Mention squad.

The Kentucky Wildcat standout was inducted into the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, September 22. A native of New Palestine, Indiana, Rumely Noble played for the Kentucky Wildcats from 2006-09 and was a two-time All-SEC selection, Academic All-American and currently remains the career leader in assists and aces. She was also named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2006 and the SEC Player of the Year in 2008 as she led the Wildcats to four NCAA Tournament berths, including an appearance in the Sweet Sixteen. For her efforts in the classroom and on the court, Rumely Noble was also a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. In 2009, Rumely Noble was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team.

Prior to making the move to Baton Rouge, Rumely Noble spent two years at Arkansas, where she served as the recruiting coordinator for the Razorbacks. During her two seasons in Fayetteville, Rumely Noble ran the defense in 2016 and directed the offense in 2015.

Rumely Noble, a true advocate for women’s athletics, has created a pathway to impact young players, not only on the court but also in the community. Her experience as a member of Arkansas’ Women’s Leadership Committee and the Cultural Competency Committee, demonstrates her commitment to developing the whole person.

Prior to her stop in Arkansas, Rumely Noble worked as the first assistant coach at Wake Forest from 2013-15 and recruited three players who were named to All-ACC teams while serving as the recruiting coordinator and game manager of the offense. She was also a liasion for academic support, student-athlete development and marketing.

Rumely Noble’s first coaching stop was at the University of North Texas where for two seasons she trained setters, coordinated the offense and aided the Mean Green’s efforts in recruiting.

From 2010-11, Rumely Noble played professionally in the top professional division in France, Ligue A, as the starting setter for Nantes Volley Feminin. She led the team to their highest finish in that division up to that point.

Rumely Noble earned a bachelor’s degree in education-kinesiology from the University of Kentucky in 2009. She married T.S. Noble in 2019.
