Will Jones begins his second stint on the Strength and Conditioning staff working with the LSU Track & Field and Cross Country teams in August 2024.

Jones entered his role with the Tigers from the private sector where he owned and operated his own business, working primarily with endurance athletes specializing in performance testing and load management.

Jones began his coaching career as a graduate assistant strength coach at LSU in summer of 2000. During this time period he was responsible for the strength and conditioning programs for volleyball, women’s soccer teams and assisted with football.

Upon completion of his graduate studies in sports pedagogy, Jones was hired by LSU Athletics as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coordinator where he over saw the programming for baseball, softball, and continued his role with the football team working with skill position players and the cross over track sprinters. He held this position from 2002-06.

Jones was part of SEC Championship teams for both baseball and softball. Each team also made College World Series appearances, as well as multiple SEC championships and the 2003 National Championship with the football team.

Jones received his bachelor of science in exercise science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1999, where he was a letterman defensive back for the Ragin’ Cajuns football team. And his master of science in sports pedagogy from LSU in 2002. He has held the CSCS certification and has been an active member of the NSCA since 1999.

Jones and his wife Jessica enjoy running, cycling and spending time with friends and family.
