Sawyer Jordan enters his first season at LSU, coming to the program after two years with Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss. Jordan served as the assistant tight ends coach for the Rebels during the most successful two-year stretch in school history.
During his two seasons at Ole Miss, the Rebels won 23 games, including 13 in 2025 when the program advanced to the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs. During that span, Ole Miss led the SEC and ranked No. 2 nationally in total offense with a school-record 526.5 yards per game in 2024 on its way to a 10-win season.
In 2025 when the Rebels won a school-record 13 games, they again led the conference and ranked No. 2 nationally in total offense with 489.7 yards a contest. Ole Miss led the SEC in passing offense in both 2024 and 2025 and finished No. 2 nationally in 2024 wit 350.8 yards per game and No. 3 in the nation in 2025 with a 313.3 average.
Jordan arrived at Ole Miss after one season as an offensive analyst at Coastal Carolina in 2023 when the Chanticleers averaged 416.2 total yards and 27.7 points per game. Coastal Carolina went 8-5 in 2023 capped with a 24-14 win over San Jose State in the Hawaii Bowl.
He spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons as an offensive analyst at South Florida after working as a graduate assistant for the Bulls in 2020.
Jordan got his start in coaching in 2013 when he was an offensive student assistant as an undergraduate at Clemson. During his five years at Clemson, he was part of the CFP National Championship in 2016 along with three consecutive ACC titles from 2015-17. During that 5-year span, Clemson won a combined 61 games, which included 14-1 records in 2015 and 2016.
Clemson beat Alabama, 35-31, to claim the national championship in 2016 after the Tigers reached the title game a year earlier when they dropped a 45-40 decision to the Crimson Tide.
Following his student assistant days at Clemson, Jordan got his first full-time start in coaching in 2018 at Louisiana-Lafayette, where he spent two years as a quality control coach for the Cajuns. Louisiana-Lafayette captured the Sun Belt Western Division both years and won the LendingTree Bowl in 2019.
Jordan graduated in the spring of 2018 from Clemson University with his Bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a focus on mathematics.
