Jasmin Wooten
Jasmin Wooten joined LSU in September 2024 as the Director of Tiger Life. In this role, she leads comprehensive student-athlete development programs, focusing on professional development, leadership enhancement, diversity and inclusion, and community engagement. Tiger Life is committed to developing multidimensional and authentic leaders equipped to excel both during their collegiate careers and beyond, ensuring a confident transition from LSU.
Wooten joined LSU after two years at the University of Arizona, where she played an instrumental role in advancing the C.A.T. Student-Athlete Development program. She spearheaded community engagement efforts, managed social media, and advised the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Cats of Purpose, an affinity group for student-athletes of color. Additionally, she led several innovative career development programs and supported first-year students through the SAS101 course designed to support identity development and academic and personal success.
Under her leadership, the department achieved back-to-back records for community service hours. Additionally, Arizona expanded its partnership with Team IMPACT, matching the most teams in the department’s history and hosting its first-ever Team IMPACT Fellow. Her dedication to service earned her the 2023-2024 Team IMPACT Administrator of the Year award.
Wooten also served on the Arizona Athletics Inclusive Excellence Student Engagement Committee, organizing annual events like Welcome Back BBQ, Graduation Luncheon, and Wildcats Vote campaign.
Before joining the University of Arizona, Wooten served as an Assistant Student-Athlete Enhancement Coordinator at the University of Florida. At UF, she assisted with creating and implementing community outreach, leadership development, career development, and NIL education programming for over 500 student-athletes. During her time at Florida, Wooten helped found the Black Student-Athlete Council in June 2020, developed Global Gators international student-athlete programming, and contributed to the Listen, Learn Act Committee.
Wooten’s career in student-athlete development stems from her passion for working with diverse student-athletes and creating inclusive environments where they can thrive personally and professionally while empowering them with the skills and experiences to live fulfilled lives after their collegiate experience ends.
A native of Miami, Florida, Wooten earned her master of science in sport management with a specialization in athlete development, and a bachelor of science in public relations from the University of Florida. She is a proud National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) member, serving as the Emerging Professionals Subcommittee Co-Chair in 2023-24 and Women Leaders in Sports. She is also a proud recipient of the 2021 NACDA John McLendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship.
