Dane Stevens enters his first season as LSU’s quarterbacks coach after spending three of the past four years on Lane Kiffin’s staff at Ole Miss.
In 2025, Stevens served as senior analyst/passing game specialist for an Ole Miss offense that ranked No. 2 in the nation in total yards (489.7), No. 3 in passing yards (313.3) and No. 10 in scoring (36.9). The 2025 season was the best in Ole Miss history as the Rebels won a school-record 13 games and won two games in the College Football Playoffs, reaching the semifinal round.
Stevens was also on the Ole Miss staff for two years (2022-23) as senior analyst/assistant quarterbacks coach before spending the 2024 season at the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of West Georgia.
In his three seasons at Ole Miss, the Rebels went a combined 32-9 and averaged 35.2 points, 428.9 total yards and 281.2 passing yards over the 41-game span. Ole Miss went 11-2 in 2023 and 8-5 in 2022, capping each season with bowl victories, including a 38-25 win over No. 10 Penn State in the 2023 Peach Bowl.
In 2025, the Rebels went 13-2 and reached the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs, to cap the best season in school history. The Rebels set single-season school records for points (554), total yards (7,345) and passing yards (4,700).
Individually, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss passed for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns on his way to earning SEC Newcomer of the Year honors as well as second-team All-SEC recognition.
In his one season at West Georgia, the Wolves averaged 30 points and 405 total yards per game.
Prior to his arrival at Ole Miss in 2022, Stevens began his coaching career as a student assistant at USC from 2014-16 helping the Trojans reach bowl games each year, including an appearance in the Rose Bowl in 2016.
Stevens was elevated to graduate assistant at USC in 2017, a position he held for three seasons. In 2017, he worked with the USC tight ends followed by two years assisting with the quarterbacks in 2018-19.
Prior to the 2020 season, Stevens was promoted to offensive quality control analyst where he spent two seasons, helping the Trojans offense rank No. 11 in the country in passing yards while developing Kedon Slovis into All-Pac-12 honors while leading the league in completions, passing yards, and completion percentage.
Originally from Marietta, Ga., Stevens spent one season as a player at USC in 2013 before medically retiring and beginning his coaching career. Stevens earned his bachelor’s degree from USC in social sciences in 2016 and then earned a master’s in communication management, also from USC.
He played offensive line at Mt. Paran Christian School in Kennesaw (Ga.).
