A standout distance runner during her prep career at Holy Savior Menard Central High School … Winner of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award in the state of Louisiana in 2014 … Twice a Junior Olympic Cross Country All-American in 2011 and 2013 … Six-time all-state cross country runner from 2009-14 … Also a six-time All-Cenla performer in track and cross country from 2009-15 … Captured four individual state championships while in high school … Crowned the state’s cross country champion as a freshman in 2011 … Was a two-time indoor state champion in the 1,600 meters 2012 and 2014 … Also crowned an outdoor state champion in the 3,200 meters in 2011 … Also a former state silver medalist and three-time state bronze medalist while running for Menard High School … Finished her high school career with bests of 5:20.52 indoors and 5:27.36 outdoors in the 1,600 meters, 11:45.05 indoors and 11:39.54 outdoors in the 3,200 meters and 18:17.00 in the three-mile in cross country … Was Menard’s school-record holder in five individual events in the indoor 1,600 meters, indoor and outdoor 3,200 meters, high jump and three-mile in cross country … Also ran on two school-record relay teams in the indoor 4×400 relay (4:24.87) and indoor 4×800 relay (10:57.30).
