McClurg returns to action after injury forced her to take a redshirt season. . . .She came to LSU in the spring of 1999 after transferring from Northern Arizona and contributed several key rounds to help the Tigers to the 1999 Division I Championships.
1999-2000 (Redshirt Season)
Redshirted after wrist injury forced her out for the season. . . .In the summer of 2000, finished in second place in the Washington State Women’s Amateur (73-71-74 – par 73). . . .Was medalist (73-par 72) in the Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur Championship. . . .Qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur for the second time. . . .Member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and won the Manship School of Journalism Academic Distinction award.
1998-1999 (Junior Season)
Averaged 79.78 strokes per round for the seven tournaments played since joining the LSU team for the spring semester. . . .Best finish was a tie for 27th at the SEC Women’s Championships (82-78-77 — 237). . . .Best round was second round at the Lady Gamecock, a one-over 73 which led to a 28th place finish. . . .69.4 percent of rounds counted for team score in the spring (12.5 of 18). . . .Averaged 78.86 in second rounds of competition.
Prior to LSU
Averaged just over 76 strokes a round in the final semester at Northern Arizona, finishing 10th in the Dick McGuire Invitational. . . .Reached the quarterfinals of the 1998 North-South Amateur and the Pacific Northwest Amateur Public Links in the summer of 1998. . . .Finished fourth in the 1997 Big Sky Tournament as a freshman with a three-round total of 240. . . .Had seven top-20 finishes her freshman year. . . .Best round was a one-over 72 in her first collegiate tournament, the Ram/Cowgirl Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. . . .Shot in the 70s in six of her last seven rounds her freshman year, including three straight rounds of 76 in the NCAA West Regional. . . .At Cascade High School in Everett, Wash., played on two state championship teams. . . .Was the Pacific Northwest Junior Champion. . . .A decorated swimmer and basketball player, who also made the state finals as a tennis player. . . .Member of the National Honor Society with a grade point average of 3.919. . . .Member of the 1998 All-Big Sky Academic team.
