Gained good experience as a freshman, competing in three races for the Tigers…He clocked a 28:04.60 in his first 8K meet at the Crimson Classic…His first 10K race was at the Chile Pepper Festival where he clocked a 34:51.79.

Earned five letters in cross country under head coach Joe Pardue at Hermitage High School … Was a district champion in cross country in 2008 … Was also named to the all-district and all-region teams for his high school … Comes to LSU with a personal best of 16:11 in the 5,000 meters.
