Junior season (2000)
Came up with her best season in a Lady Tiger uniform in 2000, helping the Lady Tigers regain the national title they held so often before, running on the mile relay at the NCAA Outdoor Championships … That outdoor performance capped what was a breakthrough year for the Louisiana native … During the indoor season she provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships and narrowly missed being part of the NCAA field after clocking a PR 8.40 in the 60-meter hurdles in the finals at the SEC Indoor meet … Previous PR was 8.45 … During the outdoor season she put together a strong stretch of hurdling that helped her get into the NCAA meet in the 100-meter hurdles … Ran a season-best time of 13.24w at the USTCA National Championships in Austin, Texas, a mark that got her into the NCAA Championship field … Top legal time of the outdoor season was a 13.50 at the SEC Championships in Baton Rouge … Finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles at the SEC Championships and qualified for the finals of the 400-meter hurdles, but did not finish … Top intermediate hurdles time was a 1:00.87 at the USC Invitational in Los Angeles … Ran the opening leg of the Lady Tigers’ mile relay squad that finished seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Sophomore season (1999)
Earned the first All-American honor of her career, helping the Lady Tigers to a fourth place finish as the opening leg of the mile relay at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Boise, Idaho … Became a key part of the Lady Tigers’ mile relay during the outdoor season, helping them to a second place finish at the Penn relays in an NCAA provisional time of 3:33.81 after recording the time of 3:33.60 in the preliminary round, a mark that put LSU in the NCAA meet … Ran the third leg of the Lady Tigers’ victorious shuttle hurdle relay group at the Penn Relays, helping LSU to a time of 54.01 … Continued to run consistently under 14-seconds in the hurdles, coming up with a season-best time of 13.79 in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles at the SEC Championships … Best finish of the outdoor season in the hurdles was a third-place outing at the SEC Quadrangular in New Orleans where she ran a time of 14.18 … During the indoor season she won her preliminary heat of the 55-meter hurdles at the SEC Indoor Championships in a time of 7.88, then finished eighth in the final in 7.95 … Ran a season-best 60-meter hurdle time of 8.56 on three occasions – in a sixth place finish at the LSU Purple Tiger to open the season, then in both the prelims and finals of the LSU Last Ditch where she finished second.
Freshman season (1998)
Was an NCAA provisional qualifier in the short hurdles both indoors and outdoors, but just missed making the field each time … Ran a 55-meter hurdle PR and NCAA provisional time of 7.82 at the Air Force Academy Invitational in Colorado Springs … Finished second in the 60-meter hurdles in her very first outing, an 8.55 at the LSU Invitational … Finished second at the LSU Twilight as well with a time of 8.53 … Ran a 55-meter time of 8.03 in the prelims at the SEC Indoor Championships, but failed to advance to the final … During the outdoor season she registered a PR of 13.66 in the 100 meter hurdles at the LSU Alumni Gold Relays and in the process beat world 55-meter hurdle record-holder Tiffany Lott of Brigham Young … Won the LSU Invitational to open the outdoor season with a time of 13.84 … Made the final at the SEC Outdoor Championships in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles … Finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles, but ran an NCAA provisional time of 13.59w in the prelims that nearly got her into the NCAA meet … Finished ninth in the final of the 400-meter hurdles, but ran a PR of 1:00.99 to get to the final.
Prep career
Was an eight-time State Champion while at Mandeville High School … Won the 55 and 100-meter hurdle titles in each of her four years … In 1997, also won the 400 meter title and was selected State MVP … Was a member of State Champion teams in 1994, 1995, and 1997 … Was the Nokia Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month in April 1995 and was selected as the Times-Picayune Athlete of the Year.
