2015 SEC Academic Honor Roll

JUNIOR SEASON (2015-16)
Set best times in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 breast and 100 fly throughout his junior campaign … Competed at SEC Championships where he finished 29th in the 100 fly, tied 36th in the 50 free and 39th in the 100 free … Swam the third leg of the 200-freestyle relay that finished eighth at SEC’s … Finished fifth in the 100 fly and 1000 free against Texas A&M … Against Missouri, finished third in the 100 fly and fifth in the 50 free … Earned a fifth-place finish overall in the 100 fly in the Tigers’ tri meet against Kentucky and Virginia Tech … A part of the LSU relay that finished first in the 200-freestyle relay at the Texas A&M Invite … Touched the wall third in the ‘B’ final of the 100 fly and second in the ‘C’ final of the 50 free … Member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll … Earned his third varsity letter.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2014-15)
Set personal best times in the 50 free, 100 breast and 100 fly at SEC Championships … Finished 25th in the 100 breast at SEC’s and narrowly missed the ‘C’ final … Finished 31st in the 100 fly at conference championships … Stepped up and swam the third leg of the men’s 200 free relay at SEC’s … Finished seventh in the consolation final of the 100 fly and second in the bonus final of the 100 breast at the Texas A&M Invite … Touched the wall sixth in the 100 fly against Florida … Finished second in the 100 fly against SMU and fifth in the event against Tennessee … Member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll … Earned his second varsity letter.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2013-14)
A freestyle and breaststroke specialist that provided depth during his first season … Posted career highs in all three events at the SEC Championships … Finished 13th overall in the 100 breast and 12th overall in the 100 fly at the Texas A&M Invite … Logged the third leg of the 200 medley relay team that finished fourth at the A&M Invite … Finished third in the 100 fly during a dual meet win over SMU … Earned his first varsity letter.

PRIOR TO LSU
A three- time All American and four-time Florida state champion … Won individual state championship twice in the 100 breast and 100 fly … Named an NISCA Scholastic All American and J.W. Mitchell Heisman Award Winner … Holds school records in many individual events including the 50 free, 100 free as well as a part of record breakers for the 100 free, 400 free and 200 medley relay … Coached by Scott Hernon where he was a four-year letterman at J.W. Mitchell High School.

Born on July 18, 1994, in Chardon, Ohio … Parents are Brian and Amy McCaffrey … Has two older sisters – Meghan and Caitlin … Majoring in plant and soil systems.
