SOPHOMORE SEASON (2009-10)
One of the Lady Tigers’ best swimmers in post-season competition … Earned her first two All-America accolades in relay competition at the NCAA Championships … Also stepped up and played an enormous role at SEC’s … Competed in every dual meet, Houston’s Cougar Classic Fall Invitational, SEC’s and NCAA’s … Led off the women’s All-America 200 medley relay squad at NCAA’s, which placed 12th (1:39.24) … Anchored the women’s All-America 200 freestyle relay team to a 12th-place finish (1:30.47) … Also raced individually in the 100 butterfly and 100 back at NCAA’s, coming away with times of 54.86 and 55.09, respectively … Advanced to a pair of consolation finals in individual competition at SEC’s … Swam to a 12th-place finish in the 100 back with a season best of 54.80 … Took 16th in the 100 fly after qualifying with a personal best and the sixth-fastest time in school history, 54.44 … Secured fourth-place for the Lady Tigers’ 200 free relay squad with an anchor split of 22.22 … Also placed 26th in the 200 back with a season best of 2:01.61 … Recorded top-16 finishes in the 100 fly and 100 and 200 back at the Cougar Classic … Emerged victorious in the 100 fly and 50 free in a road win over Florida Atlantic … Claimed runner-up honors in both the 100 and 200 back in a tri-meet versus Houston, Tulane and Rice … Registered second-place in the 100 back against nationally-ranked foes Tennessee (55.81) and Auburn (56.25) to start the season … Also posted runner-up finishes in both backstroke races at UNO, the 100 back at Alabama and the 50 free in a win over Tulane … Recognized as the program’s “Hammer Award” recipient at the annual banquet for demonstrating exceptional character in competition and putting the team first in every situation … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll … Received her second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2008-09)
Proved to be the Lady Tigers’ best freshman and a force during dual-meet competition … Competed in every dual meet, Texas A&M’s Art Adamson Invitational and the SEC Championships … Posted a 16th-place finish in the 200 backstroke at SEC’s with a mark of 1:59.58 … Just missed the consolation final of the 100 back, placing 17th with an NCAA ‘B’ cut provisional time and personal best of 54.46 … Recorded a lifetime best in the 100 butterfly, 54.57, to finish 19th … That mark ranks seventh in program annals … Also swam the seventh-fastest time in school history in the 50 freestyle (23.14) in a SEC time trial … Enjoyed a fantastic outing at the Art Adamson Invitational en route to SEC Freshman Swimmer of the Week honors (11/25/08) … Claimed the second-best marks all-time at LSU in both back events … Captured fourth in the 100 back with a time of 54.54 … Took seventh in the 200 back with a personal best of 1:57.81 … Swept both back events in three dual meets during the regular season … Emerged victorious in the 100 and 200 back against Alabama … Won the 100 and 200 back in a win over Kentucky … Also swam to victory in both races versus Arkansas … Captured both the 1000 freestyle and 100 fly against Delta State … Topped the field in the 200 back at the LSU Invitational … Named the Lady Tigers’ Newcomer of the Year at the program’s annual banquet … Earned her first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
One of the elite swimmers in the state … Emerged victorious in eight individual events at the 2008 Louisiana Short Course State Championships … Swam the 100-yard back at that meet in a personal-best time of 55.81 seconds … Her mark qualified as a U.S. Spring Nationals standard … Also registered a new top time in the 50 free at the state competition with a mark of 23.95 … Owns school records in the 50 free and 100 and 200 backstroke races.
