The consummate team leader who served as a team co-captain for the second straight season … A versatile swimmer who swam in backstroke, medley, butterfly and freestyle events … Competed in every dual-meet, the Georgia Tech Invitational and the SEC Championships … Notched third-place in the 100-yard backstroke (53.80) as part of a 1-2-3 LSU finish versus Florida State … Recorded a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a clocking of 2:01.36 against Delta State … Swam the 200 back in 1:59.34 versus South Carolina to take fourth … Captured fifth and sixth-place in the 200 and 100 back events, respectively, in a dual-meet victory over No. 18 Texas A&M on Senior Day … Earned SEC Academic Honor Roll honors for the fourth consecutive year … Received his fourth varsity letter.
JUNIOR SEASON (2006-07)
A team co-captain during the season who contributed in backstroke and individual medley … Competed in every dual meet, the Art Adamson Invitational and the SEC Championships … Posted the team’s third-fastest 200 IM time of the season (1:55.30) and ranked fourth on the squad in the 200 back (1:54.64) … Tied a career-high finish in the 200 IM at SECs with 26th place (1:55.30) … Took 25th in the 400 IM (4:05.59) at the conference meet … Qualified and finished fifth in the 200 back consolation final at the Art Adamson Invite (1:54.64) … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third time in his career … Earned his third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2005-06)
Competed in every meet of the season and set career-best times in the 200 and 400 individual medley at the SEC Championships … Also held the team’s second fastest time of the season in the 200 backstroke (1:54.05) … Placed 25th in the 200 back prelims at SECs (1:54.05) … Turned in a season and career-fast 200 IM time of 1:54.29 to finish 29th … Set another career-high in the 400 IM at SECs to place 20th (4:04.70) … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll … Earned his second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2004-05)
Proved to be a reliable distance freestyle and individual medley swimmer in his first season … Owned the second-fastest times of the season in the 200 IM (1:56.02) and 400 IM (4:06.15) … Also had the third-best marks of the season in the 1650 free (16:50.09), 1000 free (9:52.58) and 200 backstroke (1:53.65) … Placed 26th in the 200 IM prelims at the SEC Championships (1:56.02) … Was 17th in the 400 IM prelims at SECs (4:06.15) … Part of a 1-2 finish by the Tigers in the 1000 free versus UL-Monroe and Delta State … Took second in that heat with a time of 9:52.58 … Named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll … Earned his first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
Lettered all four years at Catholic High … Member of a state runner-up team coached by Jimmy Roberts … Was part of several state relay champion squads … Received All-American status and was a state and city record holder in two individual medley events … Swam the 200 freestyle, 500 free and 200 backstroke during his career … Maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout high school and was an honor graduate and Academic All-American.
