Competed in every dual meet of the season and the SEC Championships in butterfly … Posted career-fast times at SECs in both fly events … Held the third-best time of the season by the Tigers’ in the 200 fly, 1:51.56 … Recorded a 200 fly win against Delta State (1:54.91) … Earned his second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2005-06)
A versatile swimmer who saw action in backstroke, butterfly and individual medley events … Posted team top-five times in the 50 and 100 back, the 100 and 200 fly and the 200 and 400 IM … Owned the Tigers’ second-fastest time of the season in the 200 fly (1:52.48) … Competed in every dual meet and the SEC Championships … Nearly earned a berth in the finals of the 100 fly at SECs, placing 22nd with a season-fast time (51.24) … Also finished 22nd in the 200 fly at SECs (1:52.48) … Finished 32nd in the 200 IM at SECs with another career-fast time (1:56.02) … Earned his first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
Earned five letters at Battle Ground Academy … Member of two regional championship teams coached by Becky Ramer … Served as a co-captain in 2005 and was named team MVP all four years of high school … Was a standout swimmer in the 100 and 200 butterfly … Also earned one letter in frisbee … A product of the Nashville Aquatic Club under coach John Morse … Member of the National Honor Society and Math Honor Society.
