FRESHMAN SEASON (2020-21)
Was a two-time winner in his first career meet against Alabama after winning the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:33.72 and the 1000-Yard Freestyle with a time of 9:23.44… At the Art Adamson Invitational, swam the fifth-fastest time in LSU history in the 1650-Yard Freestyle, 15:22.94, to finish in first place, finished in 12th place in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:30.64, and 13th place in the 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:41.47… In a dual meet against Florida State University, he touched the wall second in both the 500-Yard Freestyle and the 1650-Yard Freestyle with times of 4:32.23 and 15:31.29… Against Texas A&M he won the 1000-Yard Freestyle with a time of 9:20.78 and he touched the wall second in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:33.34… At the 2021 SEC Championships, finished in 17th place in the 1650-Yard Freestyle with a time of 15.22.71, the fifth-fastest time in school history… Also at the SEC Championships, finished in 34th place in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:26.99… Named to the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll
PRIOR TO LSU
Lettered five years at Catholic High School for coach Douglas Logsdon… Was a part of five City Championship teams and three State Championship teams while at Catholic High… First eighth grader to compete in the Louisiana State Championships… 2019 All-American in the 500 Free… Two-time individual State Champion in the 500 Free… Named to All-Metro team five times.

Full name is Mason Edward Nyboer… Born on May 21, 2001, Parents are John and Kelly Nyboer… Has two bothers, Braden, who swims at LSU, and Ian… Was an AP Scholar… Chose LSU because, “I was influenced by the pride that people of Louisiana and Baton Rouge have about LSU. i was alo lucky enough to see the growth of the team over the years and how passionate the coaching staff is…” Majoring in Biological Engineering (Pre-Med).
