JUNIOR SEASON (1999-2000): Recorded the second-fastest time of the season for the Lady Tigers in the 100-yard freestyle event… Competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events, as well as the 100-yard backstroke competition… Placed 22nd in the 50 freestyle, 24th in the 100 freestyle, and 25th in the 100 backstroke… Swam LSUs third-best time of the season in the 50 freestyle… Member of the Lady Tigers fastest 200 (1:34.25) and 400-yard (3:28.25) freestyle relay teams of the season… Member of the SEC Womens Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll by achieving a 3.444 grade point average in animal science… Earned her third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (1998-99): Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll… Played a major role for the Lady Tigers in the freestyle relay competitions… Scored at the SEC Championships in both the individual and relay events… Provided needed depth in the freestyle events… Earned her second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (1997-98): One of seven LSU freshmen to make the SEC Championship travel squad… Member of both the 200-yard freestyle relay team which placed sixth, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished seventh at the SEC Championships… Qualified to compete in the 50, 100, and 200-yard freestyle events… Third on the team in the 50-yard freestyle… Earned her first varsity letter.
Prior to LSU: Junior National Qualifier in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events… Selected as the team captain at Mayde Creek High School from 1995-97… Named the Outstanding Female Swimmer of the district meet in 1997… Voted Most Valuable Performer during her last three years in high school… Member of the All-State team all four years in high school.
Personal: Born October 3, 1978… Daughter of Richard Marxen and Paula Baker… A Pre-Vetenarian major.
