A mainstay on court two who wrapped his final season with second team All-SEC honors … Named to the All-Louisiana First team as he accumulated 21 singles victories … His 22 singles victories propelled him to 93 career wins on the singles court, placing him at No. 10 among the LSU all-time singles wins leaders … Wrapped his doubles career with a 76-54 record after spending time on all three courts throughout his four-year career … Clinched three matches, two against Southeastern Conference foes in No. 50 Auburn and Vanderbilt … Notched wins against four ranked opponents, including a straight-set victory against #14 Gustav Hansson of Ole Miss … Worked a court two victory as LSU earned its first win of the season as he defeated #77 Peter Betran, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the match … Recorded a straight-set win against #92 Elliot Orkin of Florida … Partnered with Jordan Daigle on court one in doubles to finish the season with an overall record of 17-12 … Collected six wins against ranked opponents, including Georgia’s #8 Jan Zielinski and Robert Loeb, Auburn’s #15 Max Hinnisdaels and Conner Huertas, Texas A&M’s #23 AJ Catanzariti and Arthur Rinderknech, Kentucky’s #31 Beck Pennington and Enzo Wallart, Vanderbilt’s #52 Lachlan McPhee and Billy Rowe and Tulane’s #88 Sebastian Rey and Chi-Shan Jao … Competed in the first round of the NCAA Doubles tournament with Daigle … Finished the season ranked #27 in ITA Doubles and #82 in ITA Singles.
JUNIOR SEASON (2015-16)
Earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team and LSWA All-Louisiana First Team after competing mainly on court two during his third season … Saw action on the top three courts as he compiled a team-high 24 singles wins overall … Notched eight wins in conference play and a 15-7 dual record … Tied with Andrew Korinek for a team-high four clinched matches, two against Southeastern Conference foes Auburn and South Carolina … Notched a court two victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Rice’s Jamie Malik … Defeated ranked opponents in back-to-back matches against Texas A&M and Vanderbilt … Notched a win against Georgia’s 34th-ranked Wayne Montgomery … Reached the quarterfinals of the Cajun Classic during the tournament season after defeating No. 50 Alex Ghilea of Oklahoma, 7-5, 6-3 … Finished the season ranked 78th in the ITA rankings.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2014-15)
Turned in a strong season for the Tigers as he competed in every dual tournament on courts two through six…Accumulated the largest win total on the team for the season with a 26-12 record…Recorded a ranked victory during tournament play at the Conference Challenge in College Station in October where he defeated then-No. 46 Jeremy Efferding of Texas A&M…Butsch and his doubles teammate Chris Simpson earned the most doubles victories on the team with a 19-9 record…Butsch will be a key piece for the Tigers moving forward.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2013-14)
Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after clinching four dual matches over ranked opponents and becoming an asset to the Tigers as a first-year player … Clinched LSU’s first SEC win at Ole Miss and lifted the Tigers to a 4-3 victory over George Washington … Named SEC Freshman of the Week on March 19 … Tallied a 19-16 overall record as a newcomer … Went 11-10 in dual season singles matches with a 3-3 conference record … Improved in the lineup from court 5 to court 2 … Held a 3-1 record on court 3 and went 5-3 on court 5 …Went undefeated on two courts in SEC matches, going 2-0 on court five and 1-0 on court three … Went 16-16 in overall in doubles, which includes a 9-6 record on court 2 and a 5-3 record on court three … Earned his first varsity letter.
