FRESHMAN SEASON (2025-26)
SEC All-Freshman Team… Golf Channel Preseason All-Freshman… 3x SEC Freshman of the Week (09/24, 10/01, 10/22)… had one of the best freshmen seasons in LSU history, with a 70.30 stroke average in 37 rounds – the 70.30 average ranks No. 6 in LSU history for single-season stroke average and was third best on the team for 2025-26… recorded 27 rounds of par or better, which is the second-best season in LSU history behind Sam Burns’ 33 in 2016-17… helped lead an amazing comeback in the third round at the NCAA Championship to make the fourth-round cut with an LSU record at the NCAA Championship of eight-under 64 in the third round – eight under is the second-lowest single round to par mark in school history… had his highest finish individually at the Bryan Bros Collegiate, taking T11 with a five-under 208 (71-67-70) – earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for this finish… earned his first SEC weekly-freshman honor after a T21 finish at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup where he logged a one-over 211 (71-70-70)… earned his third SEC freshman honor after a T13 and four-under 212 (67-72-73) at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational… recorded his lowest 54 holes to par of six under twice during the 2025-26 season – finishing T18 at NCAA Marana Regional and T29 at Puerto Rico Classic… had a low 54 hole total of 207 at the SEC Championship… was a 2025 U.S. Amateur Qualifier… finished the season at 115 in the Scoreboard/Clippd collegiate-individual rankings for 2025-26.
PRIOR TO COLLEGE
Hayes signed with LSU as the number one junior in Europe… Hayes was also ranked as the No. 2 amateur in all of Europe and had five wins in his junior career… Hayes won two tournaments in 2024, most notably the English U18 Carris Trophy shooting rounds of 66-67-68-67… ranked 441st in the World Amateur Golf Rankings… Hayes also has competed at the highest level in amateur golf, playing in both the European Boys Amateur Championship and English Amateur and finishing second and third, respectively… Hayes also participated in the 2024 R&A Boys Amateur Championship and was a quarter finalist in the prestigious tournament… the well accomplished junior has also represented England at the national level, competing in the European Boys’ Championship in 2023 and 2024.
