Started for much of the season as he continued to advance his basketball skills after a very successful prep school season at Laurinburg Institute.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2003-04)
Started 20 of the 27 games he played in, averaging 18 minutes a contest & Finished the season averaging 3.9 points and 3.6 rebounds a game & Struggled at times from the field, hitting 36 percent from the field (38-of-105) and nine-of-44 from three-point range & Had one game in double figures, scoring 12 points against Louisiana-Monroe (11-29) & In that game, hit five-of-six field goals and two-of-five free throws & Had nine rebounds at Ole Miss (1-21) and against Tulane (12-23), while pulling down eight in the Tigers non-conference win against Utah (12-16).

Listed in some circles as one of the Top 15 players in America & Averaged 20.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists for Laurinburg Institute and Coach Chris Cheaney & Also played soccer and track at Laurinburg & Played in the EA Sports Roundball Classic in Chicago & Scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds and played on same team as LSU player Brandon Bass & Third-team Parade All-American & Team captured the national championship for prep schools in 2003.
