ALL-CENTURY TEAM MEMBER

In 1971, Collis Temple, Jr. became the first African-American to play varsity basketball at LSU.  The Kentwood native averaged nine points and seven rebounds and shot 56.7 percent from the floor in the 1972-73 season. His shooting percentage that season was best on the team and third-best in the SEC.  As a junior, he was named to the All-SEC Academic First Team.

In his senior season in 1973-74, Temple averaged 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game earning him All-SEC honors. Temple currently sits at 22nd all-time at LSU for rebounds with 607.
