Berrio was elevated to a full-time position in August 2016 to lead the communications efforts for volleyball and gymnastics after serving as a student intern and graduate assistant for four years. As a student assistant, Berrio worked as the primary contact for the swimming and diving and women’s tennis teams.

For four seasons (2014-17), Berrio also led the social media efforts for LSU’s nationally-recognized baseball team and served as the secondary communications contact. Berrio assisted in all media relations and social media strategy, which included the team’s two appearances in the NCAA College World Series and national seed in all four years.

Under his lead, the LSU Baseball Twitter account grew by more than 200,000 followers and became the first college baseball team to surpass both 100,000 and 200,000 followers. The Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts are number one amongst college baseball teams.

The Baton Rouge native graduated from LSU with his bachelor’s degree in mass communication in May 2015 and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sport administration.
