NILSU Summit
The NILSU Summit was a half day educational experience geared towards LSU student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. The Summit consisted of panel discussions and fireside chats with industry experts covering a variety of educational topics that are significant within the name, image, and likeness space, such as: personal branding, social media strategies, negotiating deals, navigating partnerships, fundraising, etc. Participating Fortune 500 companies at the Summit included Powerade, YETI, Raising Cane’s, and Sunshine John Deere.
Sweats to Suits
Lights, camera, fashion! Sweats to Suits is our annual NIL fashion show where we educate LSU student-athletes on the importance of professional dress.
At this event, student-athletes walk the runway in looks secured through NIL deals. The brands that contribute to this event play a vital role in equipping our student-athletes for life beyond their sport.
BUILD YOUR BOARD
A big part of our education surrounding NIL is the value of having a strong “board” of individuals who support and guide you in the best ways that align with your personal brand.
At our annual Build Your Board event, LSU student-athletes are given the opportunity to be paired with business professionals in their field of study who can provide insight and guidance into their chosen career path.
In addition to talking about best practices moving forward in their journey to find a job, these business professionals provide great insight on how to seek out opportunity and what it looks like to present a strong personal brand throughout the job search process.
GEAUX TIME
In this new era of NIL, it is time to get up and GEAUX. At our Geaux Time event, more than 500+ local business owners, industry leaders, and marketing executives joined us for an evening of discussion on the topic of Name, Image and Likeness and its effects on college athletics.
LSU head coaches spoke about the impact that brands can have on the lives of student-athletes by choosing to engage in NIL deals. With NIL being such a new space, NILSU saw this as an opportunity to educate local business owners on how to support LSU student-athletes in ways that are permitted by the NCAA and Louisiana legislation.
