First baseman Jared Jones' three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night capped a six-run rally, as fourth-ranked LSU defeated No. 5 Tennessee, 6-3, in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
The game was originally scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT, but inclement weather in the Baton Rouge area forced the start time to be moved to 9:50 p.m. CT. Friday night’s game will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network and streamed on SEC Network +.
The NCBWA list includes 56 of the nation's top relief pitchers, and there are 21 conferences represented on the list. The Southeastern Conference leads the way with nine candidates for the honor. The NCBWA will announce the finalists on Wednesday, June 4, with the winner being named on Friday, June 13, at the 2025 College World Series.
