Baton Rouge, La.  –  The LSU track and field program remains as the No. 1 team in the country on both the women’s and men’s side in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Rating that was released Monday morning (May 17).

LSU added or improved nine marks in the NCAA Top 10 list this weekend at the SEC meet. Terrance Laird (100 meters), Tonea Marshall (100m hurdles), JuVaughn Harrison (high jump), and the women’s 4×100 meter relay all registered NCAA leads in their respective events.

Laird clocked a wind-aided time of 9.80 seconds (+3.2 meters per second) to shoot to the top of the list in the NCAA in the event; he also owns the NCAA lead in the 200 meters (19.81). Marshall improved her already NCAA best when she clocked a wind legal time of 12.52 seconds in the preliminary round of the 100 meter hurdles to become the sixth fastest collegian of all time in the event.

JuVaughn Harrison went up and over a world leading height of 7′ 8.75″ (2.36 meters) to improve upon his previous NCAA lead of 7′ 6.50″ (2.30 meters). Edwards Jr. clocked a time of 13.27 in the 110 meter hurdles to move up to No. 4 in the NCAA, and the long hurdling duo of Humphrey (56.14/No. 4) and Young (56.54/No.5) moved up into the top five of the NCAA standings. Burrell ran a career best of 48.92 in the long hurdles on the men’s side to rank No. 2 in the NCAA.
