SEC Tourney Pairings Set; LSU Faces Ole Miss-Carolina Winner Friday

BATON ROUGE – With the final game played in the Southeastern Conference on Sunday, the seedings and pairings are set for the 2021 SEC Tournament which will begin Wednesday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

LSU, 16-8 and 11-6 in the conference, has earned a double bye for the third straight season (the only team in the SEC over the last three years to earn the double bye in 2019, 2020 and 2021), and will play Friday night in the final game of Quarterfinal Friday against the winner of No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 11 South Carolina. That game will be the final game on Thursday night in the second round.

LSU, with its 11 wins this season, has won a league best 39 regular season SEC games in that period of 2019, 2020 and 2021.

The LSU game Friday night will be televised by the SEC Network and broadcast on the affiliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network (Guaranty Media flagship affiliate Eagle 98.1 FM).

Alabama is the No. 1 seed with Arkansas at the two seed. LSU clinched the third seed with its win at Missouri on Saturday. The final seed went to Tennessee with its 65-54 home win over Florida on Sunday. 

Florida dropped to the fifth seed.
