Tigers Face No. 14 Kentucky in Final Home Match

BATON ROUGE – The LSU volleyball team (15-11, 9-7 SEC) will face off against No. 14 Kentucky (21-6, 14-2 SEC) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the final home match of the year.

The match will stream live on SEC Network with Tiffany Greene and Missy Whittemore on the call. The match will also be available via live stats at LSUSports.net.

The Tigers are coming off a sweep of Alabama last Sunday, while Kentucky claimed a three-set victory over Missouri last Wednesday

Series History
– vs. Kentucky: Kentucky owns a 42-24 recorded against the Tigers and has won the last six meetings. The last time the Tigers defeated the Wildcats was on Oct. 19, 2014 at Kentucky.

Last time against Kentucky, the Tigers fell in three sets. Taylor Bannister led the Tigers with 10 kills, while Raigen Cianciulli led in the back row with 10 digs.

Team Notes
>> On November 10, the Tigers claimed a four-set win over No. 25 Texas A&M, the Tigers first win over a ranked team since 2014 and the first ranked win at home since 2010.

>> Head coach Fran Flory, the winningest coach in LSU volleyball history, enters her 22nd. She owns an all-time record of 493-387.

>> Taylor Bannister became the 23rd player in program history to reach 1,000 kills against Ole Miss on Oct. 6. She is the seventh player in program history to accomplish 1,000 kills in their junior season. She now has a total of 1,225 kills.

>> Against Alabama on Sunday, Bannister led the team with 14 kills. She hit .273 for the match and tallied three blocks and five digs.

>> Bannister’s 26 kills against Auburn on Nov. 17 is tied for most kills in a three-set match in program history, tying Monique Adams record set in 1991.

>> Samarah Hill finished the Sunday match with eight kills and nine digs with a .353 hitting percentage and a career-high five blocks. She had a career-match, recording a career-high and match-high of 20 kills against Texas A&M. She hit .357 and was one dig shy of a double-double with nine. Hill earned SEC Freshman of the Week on Nov. 11, her second SEC weekly honor of the year.

>> Raigen Cianciulli continues to lead the Tigers in the back row as she tallied 68 digs in the last five matches. She earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 11.

>> Cianciulli now has 1,451 digs in her career which is 143 digs away from becoming the all-time leader in program history. She is third on the all-time list and is 76 digs away from tying Daniela Reis (1989-92). The all-time dig leader is Haley Smith (2012-15) with 1,593.

>> Against Alabama the Tigers finished with 14 total blocks, the ninth most blocks in a three-set match in program history.
