BATON ROUGE – The LSU swimming team will head to Dallas to compete in the SMU Invitational and the diving team will head to College Station to take part in the Art Adamson Invitational. The SMU Invitational will run from November 21 to November 23 at the Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium and the Art Adamson will run the same dates at the Rec Center Natatorium on the campus of Texas A&M.
LAST TIME OUT
Last time out, both the men and women squads defeated SMU in a traditional dual meet. The men won by a final score of 168.50 and the women won 171.00-125.00. For the men, four Tigers won individual races. Lewis Clough won the 100 and 200-Yard Freestyle with times of 45.48 and 1:41.20. Karl Luht won both backstroke events as he won the 100-Yard with a time of 48.34 and the 200-Yard with a time of 1:47.80. Luca Pfyffer also won two events as he swept the breaststroke events with a time of 56.48 in the 100-Yard and 2:02.88 in the 200-Yard. David Boylan won the 200-Yard IM with a time of 4:03.46 and the 200-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:50.36.
On the women’s side, Cassie Kalisz once again dominated the backstroke events by winning both the 100-Yard and 200-Yard for the third time this season. She touched the wall in 54.48 and 1:56.69 in the 100 and 200-Yard, respectively. Niamh Robinson won both the 100 and 200-Yard Breaststroke with times of 1:03.05 and 2:13.96. Her 200-Yard time was the fifth best time in the event in LSU history.
On the boards, Manny Vazquez Bas finished in second place on the Three-Meter Springboard with a score of 341.50. Dakota Hurbis dove to a score of 318.30 on three-meter to finish in fourth place. On one-meter, Hurbis and Vazquez Bas finished in third and fifth place with scores of 290.05 and 173.25, respectively.
Aimee Wilson dominated the three-meter by diving to a score of 344.85, which was a new season high for the sophomore. Wilson won the event by over 58 points. On one-meter, Wilson finished in second place with a score of 274.10.
The Field
At the SMU Invitational, the men’s squad will face teams from SMU, TCU, Missouri State, and Incarnate Word. The women will face off against SMU, TCU, Missouri State, Incarnate Word, New Mexico, and Fresno State. At the Art Adamson, the diving team will face off against divers from Texas A&M, Air Force, Hawaii, and Stanford.
