Volleyball Travels to No. 11 Florida

BATON ROUGE – The LSU volleyball team (13-10, 7-6 SEC) hits the road this weekend, facing No. 11 Florida (20-3, 11-1 SEC) Friday at 6 p.m. CT in Gainesville.  

The match will air live on SECN+ and on the WatchESPN app. The match will also be available via live stats on LSUSports.net.    

The Tigers are coming off one of the biggest wins since 2014. The Tigers defeated then-No. 25 Texas A&M in four sets on Sunday, the first win over a ranked opponent since 2014. Florida defeated Mississippi State in straight sets on Sunday.     

Series History
– vs. Florida: Florida owns a 46-14 all-time record against the Tigers. The last time the Tigers defeated the Gators was Nov. 13, 2009 at Florida. The Tigers also beat the Gators at home that same season, Oct. 11, 2009.

The Tigers fell to the Gators earlier this season at home by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-21. Taylor Bannister led the Tigers with her third career double-double of 20 kills and 10 digs. Samarah Hill finished with a career-high 18 digs.

Team Notes
>> Head coach Fran Flory, the winningest coach in LSU volleyball history, enters her 22nd. She owns an all-time record of 491-386.

>> Taylor Bannister became the 23rd player in program history to reach 1,000 kills against Ole Miss on Oct. 6. She is the seventh player in program history to accomplish 1,000 kills in their junior season. She now has a total of 1,172 kills.

>> Bannister picked up her fourth career double-double against Texas A&M, tallying 15 kills and 10 digs.

>> Samarah Hill had a career-match, recording a career-high and match-high of 20 kills against Texas A&M. She hit .357 and was one dig shy of a double-double with nine.

>> Hill earned SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season after helping the Tigers to two victories last week. She finished the week with 4.57 kills per set, a .352 hitting percentage, 3.29 digs per set and 4.86 points per set. She finished the Auburn match with her fourth double-double of the year of 12 kills and 14 digs.

>> Raigen Cianciulli continues to leads the Tigers in the back row as she tallied 36 dis in the two matches last week, earning her SEC Defensive Player of the Week. She averaged 5.14 digs per set.

>> Cianciulli now has 1,419 digs in her career which is 174 digs away from becoming the all-time leader in program history. She is third on the all-time list and is 108 digs away from tying Daniela Reis (1989-92). The all-time dig leader is Haley Smith (2012-15) with 1,593.
