Four Tigers Move on to Final Stage of Q School

Baton Rouge, La. Curtis Thompson, Eric Ricard, Jacob Bergeron, and Zach Wright, all former LSU men’s golfers, punched their ticket to the final stage of Korn Ferry Tour Q school at various qualifying sites this week.

Q School Qualifying Results

The Korn Ferry Tour Q School finals will take place Dec. 12-15 at the Orange County National Golf Club in Winter Garden, Fla. A total of 106 golfers will tee it up at the finals site with the top 40 securing some sort of status for the 2020 season on the Korn Ferry Tour. Roughly the top 20 golfers from each round two qualifying sites advanced to the finals.

Curtis Thompson and Eric Ricard advanced out of the round two qualifying site at Plantation Preserve GC in Plantation, Fla. They wrapped up their fourth and final round of the week on Friday to solidify their spots. Thompson was the medalist at the site with a four-round total of 15-under 269 that was highlighted by a 8-under 63 in round three. Ricard finished tied for eighth at 10-under 274 to easily secure his positioning to the site of the finals.

Jacob Bergeron played solid and steady golf all week long with rounds of 71, 70, 71, and 68 to finish seventh at his Korn Ferry Tour qualifying site (Highland Oaks GC/Dothan, Ala.) with a four-round total of 8-under 280. The fourth and final Tiger to advance to the final site of Korn Ferry Tour qualifying was Zach Wright. Wright, who played on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019, finished seventh at the Bear Creek Golf Club (Murrieta, Calif.) to advance; he shot rounds of 71, 69, 69, and 73 for a total of 6-under 282.
