Beach to Host Fall Competition Sunday

BATON ROUGE – For the final time before the official beach volleyball season begins in February, LSU will compete at two separate events this weekend, including at home in the LSU Beach Volleyball Fall Tournament on Sunday.

On Saturday starting at 9 a.m. CT, LSU will compete at White Sand Beach Volleyball in Elmwood, Louisiana against pairs from Tulane, TCU, Southeastern and UNO.

LSU will face pairs from Houston Baptist, TCU and Tulane beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday at LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium. The last pairs will begin at 4 p.m. and every court throughout the day can be viewed at lsul.su/2K36rjI.

In the past two weekends, the Tigers have won the Gulf Shores Collegiate Beach Bash and the Rally Volleyball Competition in Huntsville, Alabama.

LSU is coming off its best season in program history. After reaching the NCAA Championships for a third straight season, the Tigers made it to the NCAA semifinals for the first time in program history. LSU finished the season with 31 victories and was ranked No. 3 in the final AVCA poll of the year.

With 15 players returning, including eight who recorded 15 or more victories, along with a top class of seven newcomers, LSU appears to be in good position to continue its run as one of the top teams in America.
