BATON ROUGE – Tuesday night’s LSU Southeastern Conference men’s basketball opener with Alabama will be the annual Gold Game and will feature the popular Quick Change at halftime.
Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and tickets are available at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and online at LSUtix.net. Tickets will go on sale at 6:30 p.m. at the upper concourse ticket windows of the Maravich Center on Tuesday.
The students are expected back for the game with classes starting on Wednesday and LSU students are admitted free of charge with valid student ID.
The first conference game has traditionally been the Gold Game and fans are asked to wear gold to the game. Also, the first 2,000 fans receive a free gold t-shirt courtesy of Hancock Whitney Bank.
Quick Change has appeared at the Maravich Center many times and is one of the most requested halftime appearances by basketball fans.
In 2015, The Sporting News ranked them No. 1 in college basketball halftime acts. The article said … “the Quick Change phenomenon have been on America’s Got Talent a few times, but their performance lends itself perfectly to the halftime scene. There’s nothing quite as fascinating as watching the duo instanteously swap what seems like an endless rotation of outfits by simply walking through a hula hoop.”
The Tigers are 10-3 on the season and has won 15 consecutive games in the Maravich Center dating back to last year, including 8-0 this season.
