LSU Women's Golf Set to Host Tiger Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s golf team is set to host the 37th LSU Tiger Golf Classic for the 18th year in a row at the University Club in Baton Rouge, March 23-25.

LSU will host 12 teams in the par-72 tournament that will play 6,247 yards. The teams will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on holes one and ten on Friday and Saturday. Sunday will feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Four teams in the field are currently ranked in the Top-50 led by No. 25 Virginia. The Lady Tigers rank No. 48 on the Golfstat weekly rankings, while No. 26 Houston and No. 38 North Carolina State round out the group in the Top 50. Charlotte, Chattanooga, Mercer, Princeton, SMU, Southern Miss, ULM and UTSA fill out the tournament field.

The Lady Tigers will go with the lineup of senior Claudia De Antonio, junior Kathleen Gallagher, senior Sydney Cavin, freshman Kendall Griffin and freshman Mary Frances Chauvin. Sophomore Monica Dibildox, junior Page Morehead, junior Marina Hedlund and freshman Aoife O’Donovan will compete on the home course as individuals.

De Antonio is coming off of her best finish of the year, tying for fourth at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in South Carolina on March 4. She and Cavin, who is competing in her fourth tournament of the season, are making their final appearance on the Lady Tigers’ home course this weekend.

Gallagher is making her third appearance in the Tiger Golf Classic, while Griffin and Chauvin will get their first action in the home tournament. Dibildox will see her first golf of the Spring after filling the number five spot in the Fall.
