BATON ROUGE, La. – Following her 60-meter NCAA national championship, senior Aleia Hobbs closed out the 2018 indoor season by making her first appearance on The Bowerman 2018 Women’s Post-Indoor Watch List.
Her blistering time of 7.07 seconds set a collegiate record on Saturday, March 10 in College Station, Texas.
The New Orleans native sat behind teammate Mikiah Brisco with the second-best 60-meter dash for the majority of the indoor season, but she certainly saved her best performance when it mattered most.
Hobbs also set the facility record at the Gilliam Track Stadium in College Station, Texas, and she replaces Brisco for the best time in school history. Her time also marks the sixth-fastest time in the world this season.
The three-time All-American will aim to carry momentum over to her final outdoor campaign of her collegiate career as the LSU Track & Field teams travel to Lafayette for the Louisiana Classics this Friday and Saturday, March 16-17.
