BATON ROUGE, La. – Senior sprinter Mikiah Brisco picked up the second SEC Women’s Runner of the Week honor of her career Tuesday following a personal-best performance in the 60-meter at the Corky Classic in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday.
Brisco’s altitude-adjusted time of 7.15 seconds was her personal best in the 60-meter by .02 and set the world season-best at the time of the meet on Saturday. Brisco’s 7.15 is also tied for second on the LSU all-time list.
One of 10 finalists for The Bowerman 2018 Women’s Preseason Watchlist, Brisco is a two-time NCAA Champion and eight-time All-American. In addition to her 100-meter title, she was a member of the LSU national champion 4×100 relay team in 2016. She is also a 4-time SEC Champion and has earned All-SEC honors seven times.
Up next, LSU will head north to Iowa City, Iowa for the Larry Wieczorek Invitational. The two-day meet begins on Friday, Jan. 19.
