Men's Tennis Begins Fall Season at Cajun Classic

Men’s Tennis Begins Fall Season at Cajun Classic

LAFAYETTE, La. – Four members of the LSU men’s tennis team are set to open up the 2017 fall schedule at the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic September 22-24 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

The Tigers will send Gabor Csonka, Agie Moreno, Nikola Samardzic and Rafael Wagner to compete against players from Georgia State, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, South Florida, Texas, Texas Tech and UL-Lafayette.

“We are excited to play in our first tournament of the year,” co-head coach Chris Brandi said. “Everyone has been working very hard and we are excited to see how everybody competes.”

In Flight 1 singles, Csonka will play against Rodrigo Banzer of Texas. Wagner is seeded third in singles in the second flight, and the sophomore will square off against Quentin Coulaud of Georgia State. Moreno will take on Jack MacFarlane, and Samardzic will face Dominik Koenig from UL-Lafayette.

The duo of Csonka and Moreno are the third seed in the doubles tournament and will face Colin Markes and John Mee of Texas. Samardzic and Wagner will compete against Sean Burnette and Jakub Wojcik of South Florida.
