Creative Services Wins American Advertising Awards

BATON ROUGE – LSU Athletics, in particular the Creative Services Division of the department, was honored with three silver awards recently by the American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge.

The group, led by Creative Services director Jason Feirman, was given silver award distinction in the “Outdoor Board – flat/single” category for its design and presentation of the Coach “O” billboard.

In the “Out-of-Home Campaign”, the group earned a silver award for “LSU Football Coaches”, which featured billboards of Coach “O”, AranDa, and OCanada. The billboards helped promote the hiring of new offensive coordinator Matt Canada along with highlighting second-year defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.

The LSU group notched a silver award in the “Out-of-Home – Site Interior” category, which was designed by graphic design coordinator Amanda Qubty, and features the LSU softball stairwell located at the entrance of the LSU softball offices and locker room at Tiger Park.

The Tiger Athletic Foundation’s recently developed website www.LSUFootballOps.com was awarded “Best of Show” for the Interactive category as well as winning gold for the User Experience category. The website was developed by Red Six Media with assistance from Feirman and Stephanie Lyles of the LSU Athletic Department.

The American Advertising Federation-Baton Rouge is an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation, the only national organization representing the interests of the entire advertising community. The group consist of local professionals based in the fields of advertising, sales promotion, public relations, marketing, production and the buying or selling of advertising.

The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
