In the fourth of a series getting to know the LSU softball freshman class, we learn a little bit more about Aliyah Andrews
1. Why did you choose LSU?
I chose LSU because after coming here so much and watching so many games, nowhere else seemed right. I have never been to another school where fans tailgate before every game and are so involved in the player’s lives. Every other school has the same basic colors, but purple and gold sets us apart from everyone in the country without question.
2. What do you like most about LSU?
What I love the most about LSU is how helpful and supporting the university is as a whole towards student-athletes. There are so many resources in every aspect of a situation that we can go to if there is a problem or if we need help. We have advisors and tutors that care so much about us, and having the fueling station options available while we are rushing helped me immensely with the transition to college and playing softball at the collegiate level.
3. What is your favorite part about being an athlete at LSU/on the LSU Softball team?
My favorite part about being on the LSU Softball team is gaining close relationships with so many girls. I came here from Florida and did know many people. The team has welcomed all of us freshmen and treated us like we have been here forever. Every practice and every workout session we make memories that will last a lifetime. Being an athlete also allows you to meet other athletes that you will have things in common with as well.
4. What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
Shopping. Shopping more. And going out to eat J
5. What does “ALL for LSU” mean to you?
“ALL for LSU” means as an individual you do your all to be a part of the LSU family. Everybody does what they need to do and makes decisions based on how supportive and enthusiastic they are to a Tiger.
