BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team will hold its fourth annual Gymnastics 101 showcase event at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, inside the Maravich Center. The event is free and gives fans a chance to get a preview of the 2017 squad.
The event serves as an exhibition meet because the team will run through lineups and perform routines on all four events. A judge will also be on the floor to score routines.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and team posters and meet programs will be available at all entrances. Season ticket holders will be able to pick up their tickets at the event along with the 2017 “Holy Cow” t-shirts. Both will be available near portals C and D on the south side of the concourse.
Season tickets will also be on sale on the concourse of the Maravich Center throughout the night. Tickets for LSU’s six home meets begin at $30 for adults and $18 for youth ages 3-12.
Fans are also reminded of LSU’s “Geaux Clear” policy that is in effect at all athletic venues. The policy allows for only clear tote bags smaller than 12” x 6” x 12” or one-gallon plastic freezer bags to be permitted. Bags must be clear and transparent and cannot be tinted, textured or patterned. For full details on the policy, please visit www.LSUSports.net/GeauxClear.
Many lots around the Maravich Center are free and open to the public, including 101, 104 and 105. North Stadium Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 4:30 p.m. Lots 201 and 300 off of North Stadium Drive will be reserved.
Freshmen Ruby Harrold, Kennedi Edney and Ashlyn Kirby will make their debut in the Maravich Center at the event. The Tigers, under the direction of D-D Breaux, also return six All-Americans in Ashleigh Gnat, Sydney Ewing, Shae Zamardi, Myia Hambrick, Sarah Finnegan and Lexie Priessman.
LSU will host six home meets in the Maravich Center in 2017, starting with Southeastern Conference power Georgia on Jan. 6. The Tigers will also take on Texas Woman’s, New Hampshire, and a tri-meet with George Washington and Iowa. SEC foes Missouri and Florida will also compete inside the PMAC this season.
Fans can follow the Tigers on the team’s social media channels: @LSUgym on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, www.Facebook.com/lsugym and at YouTube.com/lsugymnastics.
